ABOUT ME
I believe independence is exceptionally important for individuals with disabilities and their families. Learning these life skills and using them gives the individual confidence, and self-worth. It also provides the families a sense of ease and gratification. Teaching life skills, is the reason I went into this field. I enjoy seeing the fulfillment the individual receives when learning these life skills.
As a teacher, I know how difficult an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is to understand. It is even more difficult to have everyone involved on the same page (therapists, doctors, educators, case managers, employers, etc). As an IEP Advocate, I would connect everyone and make sure the individual is getting the services needed in order for them to be successful.
I provide training sessions for employees who work with individuals with disabilities. I also provide consulting services for families to help better their home life and help to find the right service providers.

I was born and raised in the great town of Greenville, SC. After graduating from Clemson University in 2007, I began to teach students with severe intellectual disabilities at the Washington Center where I am currently still teaching. In August 2016, I was given the opportunity to serve on the Barbara Stone Foundation board and currently serve as the fundraising chair for the Foundation. With my teaching and board member experience, I realized that there was a HUGE gap in learning and retaining life skills after graduation. This was the starting point of creating Guiding Life Services.

I am a big Clemson football fan, GO TIGERS! My dog Talley is the best sidekick! I enjoy walking around in our wonderful downtown, riding the Swamp Rabbit Trail, cooking, and working out.
